17CrNiMo6 Chemical Composition
The Chemical Composition of 17CrNiMo6 contains a low level of carbon content of 0.15 - 0.21 %. The material has an Mn content of 0.5 - 0.9 % which imparts hardness to the material. The contents of P is reduced to 0.025% and S is reduced to 0.015 % max as excess content of P and S can damage the quality of steel and can cause the alloys steel to break at low stresses. There is a high Chromium content of 1.5-1.8 % which adds additional yield and tensile on heat treatment.
