21CrMoV5-7 Chemical Composition
The Chemical Composition of 21CrMoV5-7 contains a low carbon content of 0.17 - 0.25 %. The material has an Mn content of 0.40 - 0.80 % which imparts hardness to the material. The contents of P is reduced to 0.030% and S is reduced to 0.030 % max as excess content of P and S can damage the quality of steel and can cause the alloys steel to break at low stresses. There is a high Chromium content of 1.2-1.5 % which adds additional yield and tensile on heat treatment.
