JIS SCr420 Chemical Composition
The Chemical Composition of JIS SCr420 contains a low carbon content of 0.18 - 0.23 %. The material has an Mn content of 0.6 - 0.85 % which imparts hardness to the material. The contents of P is reduced to 0.030% and S is reduced to 0.030 % max as excess content of P and S can damage the quality of steel and can cause the alloys steel to break at low stresses. There is a high Chromium content of 0.9-1.20 % which adds additional yield and tensile on heat treatment.
